With studies in Physics and Electronic Engineering, he has worked since 2001 at the Spanish Research Council (CSIC) in the field of Information and Communications Technology and Data Management for Marine and Polar Research.
He has taken part in several expeditions aboard research vessels and at Antarctic stations, providing ICT support to projects across various scientific disciplines, including geophysics, oceanography, climatology, biology, cartography, and glaciology. Onshore, he has been responsible for leading the IT infrastructure for FAIR Data Management.
He currently leads the Scientific Computing Service at the Institute of Marine Sciences (ICM-CSIC), providing access to High Performance Computing (HPC) and hierarchical data storage designed for marine research. The mission is to support efficient, shared, and sustainable use of advanced computational resources, enabling large-scale data analysis through virtual research environments.
