My research interests lie in the design and control of robotic systems. While my work has applications in various sectors, including agricultural and biomedical fields, my primary focus is on marine robotics. I develop innovative tools for marine science applications, aiming to enhance our understanding of and interaction with the ocean.
This work spans two main, highly synergistic areas. On one hand, I focus on developing robotics for marine science applications, creating autonomous solutions for exploration, monitoring, and intervention in underwater environments. On the other, I explore bioinspiration, extracting principles from nature's designs and processes to inform the development of novel robotic solutions. This allows me to create more efficient and adaptable robots by integrating biological insights into my marine robotics projects. As a task leader in different European initiatives, I'm actively involved in providing these technological and robotic solutions.
