The Institut de Ciències del Mar (ICM) is the most multidisciplinary research centre devoted to ocean science in Spain and the first and only one to have received the Severo Ochoa Centre of Excellence Accreditation. ICM’s scientific strategy is shaped around four interdisciplinary Research Hubs designed to deliver the ocean knowledge needed for a healthy planet. Our goal is to develop research of excellence to inspire a society in harmony with the blue planet. This is in line with the values of the United Nations Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development (2021-2030). In alignment with this goal, we are committed to attracting young international talent, promising new researchers who will lead our research in the future.
This call for early expressions of interest aims at attracting outstanding postdoctoral candidates who are willing to submit a proposal in the next MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships call in 2026, with ICM as the host institution.

The MSCA PF grant initiative aims to foster the creativity and innovation of PhD-holding researchers seeking to acquire new skills through advanced training, international collaboration, interdisciplinary work, and cross-sectoral mobility.
- Interested postdoctoral candidates are encouraged to review the list of Hosting offers and ICM research groups to identify research areas that align with their interests and find an appropriate ICM supervisor.
Proposal preparation:
- Training on “How to write successful MSCA-PF proposals”. Sessions will be organized on 9th, 10th and 12th June 2026 (online). Register here.
- Continuous guidance and feedback on the technical and scientific aspects of the proposal.
- Revision of the proposal.
- If the candidate is awarded, assistance in the hiring process.
