The ICM effectively became part of the network last July with the signing of the 'Citizen Commitment to Sustainability 2012-2022', by which the ICM commits to contribute to the Barcelona’s sustainable transformation with its actions.

The award from the Catalan Society of Biology (SCB) recognizes the contribution of the biologist to the outreach project "El Mar a Fons", which has spreaded knowledge about the seas and oceans in the educational field through a wide range of didactic proposals.

Gender inequality is a reality in many research centres. To change this reality, it is essential to design strategies and implement measures to achieve systemic institutional changes and thus address the existing gender bias in organizations. 

The photo competition is promoted by the MPA Engage project, an initiative co-financed by the European Interreg Med programme that aims to strategically manage protected marine areas for mitigating the effects of change on the Mediterranean.
