Next November 2014, the Institute of Marine Science will host the 2nd edition of the Ecopath conference, titled "Modeling ecosystem dynamics: beyond boundaries with EwE ", celebrating the 30th birthday of the Ecopath approach to model aquatic ecosystems.

EwE is a free software platform that allows the modeling of aquatic ecosystems and their temporal and spatial dynamics to study the structure and functioning of these systems, and the impact of environmental factors and human activities on them. The conference and workshops are organized by the Institute of Marine Science (ICM-CSIC), the Exploited Marine Ecosystems Unit (UMR EME212), the Universite Montpellier II (IRD-Ifremer), the association of research EII and the Ecopath Research and Development International Consortium.

The event will be held at the headquarters of the Institute of Marine Sciences from the 4 to the 14 of November 2014. The Conference will take place over three days, from 10 to 12 November 2014. Before (from 4 to 7 November) and after (13 and 14 November) a series of introductory and advanced workshops on modeling of aquatic ecosystems with EwE will be organized.

The deadline for submitting abstracts to the conference is 31st of May 2014. However, to participate in the conference and workshops there is no need to have submitted an abstract to the conference.

The central theme of the conference will be the availability of new developments and the presentation of new applications of modeling of aquatic ecosystems with EwE.
