Del 25 al 28 d’abril, Barcelona i els municipis metropolitans acolliran el BioDiverCiutat, un esdeveniment de ciència ciutadana que té l'objectiu de registrar el màxim nombre d’observacions de natura urbana en tan sols quatre dies. En aquest període, qualsevol persona amb interès en la natura podrà registrar fotografies de flora i de fauna dels ecosistemes metropolitans mitjançant la plataforma de ciència ciutadana MINKA. La iniciativa, impulsada per l’Institut de Ciències del Mar (ICM-CSIC), forma part del City Nature Challenge, una competició amistosa internacional en què ciutats de tot el món tenen com a objectiu documentar la biodiversitat en les àrees urbanes.
Com es pot participar?
Per participar només cal trobar espècies silvestres de fauna i flora, fotografiar-les i penjar-les a la plataforma MINKA, tant des de l’app com des del web. En el cas de l’àrea metropolitana de Barcelona, animem a explorar tots els ecosistemes urbans possibles, com els boscos de Collserola, parcs, jardins, rius, aiguamolls, dunes, platges i el mar. Totes les observacions pujades a la plataforma del perímetre metropolità que entrin a MINKA al llarg de l’esdeveniment formaran part del repte i se’n validaran totes les espècies. Els resultats obtinguts formaran part d’un rànquing d’unes 700 ciutats d’arreu del món que busquen natura urbana. BioDiverCiutat també compta amb algunes activitats organitzades per entitats del sector del medi ambient que es poden consultar a l’agenda del web de l’esdeveniment.

From April 25 to 28, Barcelona and the metropolitan municipalities will host BioDiverCiutat, a citizen science event aimed at recording the maximum number of urban nature observations in just four days. During this period, anyone interested in nature will be able to register photographs of flora and fauna from metropolitan ecosystems using the MINKA citizen science platform. The initiative, led by the Institut de Ciències del Mar (ICM-CSIC), is part of the City Nature Challenge, an international friendly competition in which cities worldwide aim to document biodiversity in urban areas.
How can you participate?
To participate, simply find wild species of fauna and flora, photograph them, and upload them to the MINKA platform, either via the app or the website. In the case of the Barcelona metropolitan area, we encourage you to explore all possible urban ecosystems, such as the forests of Collserola, parks, gardens, rivers, wetlands, dunes, beaches, and the sea.
All observations uploaded to the platform from within the metropolitan perimeter during the event will be part of the challenge, and all species will be validated. The results obtained will contribute to a ranking of around 700 cities worldwide searching for urban nature. BioDiverCiutat also features various activities organized by environmental sector entities, which can be found in the event website's agenda.

All entities linked to the environment, nature, or citizen science can collaborate by organizing outings during the challenge days to help record observations of flora and fauna.
