Oliver Ross has a Diplom (MSc) in physics and a PhD in physical oceanography. At present he is a Marie Curie Fellow at the UTM conducting the Aqualight project. His research interests are:

cross-disciplinary processes in the ocean (turbulent mixing and the vertical fluxes of nutrients and algal carbon, the influence of turbulence on phytoplankton photoacclimation and primary production)

ocean optics and the use of optical methods to characterize water column dynamics and composition, and

feedbacks between the socio-economic impacts of climate change and the human impact on the natural environment.

He has been involved in several national and international projects (IMPRESS</a…;, <a href="http://quest.bris.ac.uk/research/themes/MarQUEST.html" target="_blank">MarQUEST, <a href="http://www.utm.csic.es/aneris/" target="_blank">ANERIS) and is a current member of the <a href="http://www.geohab.info/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=98&…; target="_blank">GEOHAB scientific sub-committee of the Core Research Project "HABs in Stratified Systems".
