I study the larval communities of crustacean decapods of the Mediterranean Sea, with a focus on commercial species and especially on the blue and red shrimp Aristeus antennatus. My work combines morphological and molecular analysis to analyze the composition of larval communities and their environmental drivers. I have also worked on mapping the fishing effort for adult A. antennatus and understanding the dynamics of the bottom trawling fleet. My research is framed within a co-management plan for the fishery of the blue and red shrimp that brings together scientists, policy makers and fishermen for a better governance and sustainability.
